History

In 1993 started flying homing pigeons together with my father under the name J & A Beerendonk. Our dovecots were situated behind his house. When my father was forced to move from his original home, my wife and I started looking for a new house ourselves where I would have the ability to foster my own homing pigeons. We have moved to the Kerkstraat in Nieuw Vennep, where I have placed my own dovecot for my homing pigeons.

Because of the homing pigeons that we already obtained from former champion A J Giekspoor, we were able to buy a pigeon from Gebr de Wit, De Etampes. This was a grandson of the Reims, a very good pigeon for both flying and breeding. I have also bred pigeons of Vliet Mastricht and with good pigeons of local favorites; C Lammers, Groeneveld/Elshout, Kees Arensman and Ghiel de Wit. We have achieved good results in the CC Leiden. We reached first places in the CC and also in the rayon. The descendants of these pigeons are still present in our breeding line.

In 2006 I started with my own pigeons. My father and I are now each flying our own pigeons, but we still breed the pigeons together. In 2008 my father decided to do things different because he is getting older and wanted me to move ahead in breeding and flying homing pigeons. We started purchasing pigeons from the top pigeon flyers. I contacted Jan Ouwerkerk, who has been at the top for more than 40 years, and purchased four pigeons from him. These four pigeons were the first descendants of a pigeon of Jan Ouwerkerk (a young from the 2003-1168483 and his brother the 2003-1168484, with these pigeons Jan became National Champion Eendaagsefond 2005).

Also, we purchased four pigeons from Chiel de Wit. They are purebloods from Ad Schaerlaeckens, descending from Ace Four, Invincible and New Sissi (Chiel purchased them from Schaerlaeckens himself).

From the results here on my website you can conclude that I am very pleased with how things are going. In 2009 I am flying with the first descendants of the pigeons I recently purchased. When looking at the genealogical tree of my current pigeons, I can conclude that I am moving ahead. In 2009 I have purchased five more pigeons from Jan Ouwerkerk, amongst which two youngs from the 2004-2082569 (a very good pigeon from Jan), and another young from the 2000-2010714 (a brother of the 83 and the 84). The 14 became Asduif Vitesse in 2002. We also bought four more pigeons from Chiel de Wit that are descending from the best pigeons of Ad Schaerlaeckens, that Chiel purchased from him.
When looking at the results of the flights of Chiel de Wit in 2009 you can conclude he has great pigeons, four scores ended on teletext and chain results in rayon A, department 6. It is my opinion that breeding with pigeons of both Jan Ouwerkerk and Ad Schaerlaeckens leads to great pigeons!
